Bitcoin ATMs Now In The Thousands Around the World

Coinatmradar.com reports a milestone of the 3,500 threshold being crossed for bitcoin ATMs (BATM) installed across the globe. One of the goals behind bitcoin automated teller machines is ease of onboarding to the world of crypto. A bear market – a protracted Crypto Winter – appeared to slow BATMs’ placement. And for sure it just might have, but numbers remain relatively strong considering, with the greater worry among BATM operators being US federal regulations preventing innovation. 3,500 Bitcoin ATMs Installed Around the World Coinatmradar.com announced this week a psychological milestone for the ecosystem had been reached: more than 3,500 bitcoin ATM machines are now installed all over the world. Not so long ago, BATMs were thought to a perfect onboarding tool, and especially in the United States. Kim Kardashian West, the reality television starlet with 114 million followers on Instagram, staked what appeared to be physical Bitcoin (BTC) chips on a charity poker night out in LA yesterday, July 29. Kardashian West, sisters Khloé Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, and mom Kris Jenner hosted a table at yesterday’s inaugural "If Only" Texas Hold’em Charity Poker in Los Angeles to raise funds for City of Hope, a nonprofit clinical research and treatment center for cancer. Amidst her Instagram Stories’ videos of betting with poker chips, the star posted a picture in which she bet with what appeared to be physical Bitcoin chips, accompanied by the jubilant byline “We moved onto bitcoin!” The idea of representing Bitcoin with a physical commodity has been around for several years — whether by minting gold coins or bespoke printed banknotes. One of the physical cryptos on Kim’s Instagram appears to closely resemble a Kialara-designed Bitcoin, which crypto entrepreneur Ma…

Altcoin Prices are Struggling to Keep up with Bitcoin

Bitcoin has many cryptocurrency traders feeling bullish after making a strong move to reclaim a position above $7,000. Many altcoins, however, have failed to keep up. ETHEREUM Starting from the top, the first altcoin which has failed to keep pace with Bitcoin price $7461.5 -0.06% is Ethereum (ETH), the second-ranked cryptocurrency by market capitalization and leading operating system featuring smart contract functionality. At the time of this writing, Ethereum $464.868 -0.13% is down 10.90 percent against Bitcoin over the last week. Those looking to buy low may be enticed by ETH/BTC reaching oversold levels on the daily relative-strength index (RSI). Ether is also well below its 200-day moving average, though may have more room to fall before finding any level of support against bitcoin. RIPPLE Ripple (XRP) $0.45923 -0.08% has also been getting slaughtered against Bitcoin. The bank-friendly cryptocurrency — which many believe isn’t a cryptocurrency at all — is …

Bitcoin Fees are at their Lowest in Years

Fees on the bitcoin network have reached their lowest in seven years, with the median cost of sending BTC currently standing at $0.11. While there are several reasons why BTC fees are low, one of them is obvious: less people are using the network. The number of daily transactions has dropped sharply since last year, and has declined further in the past month. It is no secret that the number of on-chain bitcoin transactions, along with those of other blockchains, has dropped significantly since late 2017. This mirrors the decline in the valuation of bitcoin and most other digital assets during this timeframe. On December 14, almost half a million BTC transactions were recorded in a single day. By February, this figure was averaging below 200,000 a day. On April 24, the number peaked at 254,000, but has since declined, reaching a low of 158,000 on May 26, according to Bitinfocharts.com. In early April, the median BTC transaction fee dropped to under 10 satoshis per byte bef…

Bitcoin Price is Predicted to Reach $64000 by April 2018

Creator of the Web Bot Project, Clif High a Bitcoin expert, predicts that the beginning of March is the likely time that we will see another boost in Bitcoin price, just like we saw at the end of last year, where Bitcoin hit an all time high. This applies to the entire crypto space, and not just for Bitcoin. So what makes this price increase different? Previously, we have been seeing what is described as a crocodile tooth, where the price increases and then falls. But the number of investors is set to considerably increase, as cryptocurrencies become more and more mainstream, which will mean that the price will not fall so significantly again. High believes that Bitcoin will hit $64,000 as early as April, and adds that it will go even higher. Although it would be expected that it would see a 30% drop after the initial high, this will still bring that value of the coin to the mid $40,000’s. He even goes as far to say that we might see it reach in the region of $100,000 this y…

Bitcoin now passes $15,000

Bitcoin has advanced $1,000 higher in what is becoming an almost daily occurrence for the virtual currency.

Data from Coinmarketcap shows an average exchange price of $15,200 at press time Thursday, marking an astounding advance of over $6,000 in less than a week. Wide spreads on exchanges due to volatility accompanying wild upticks means many exchanges are trading $500 or more below Coinmarketcap’s rating. As an example, currently the difference in the price of one BTC on Bitfinex and Coinbase is over $1,000 at $14,250 and $15,400 respectively. New all-time highs now come and go in the blink of an eye as Bitcoin adds $1,000 of value every day, beating even more optimistic short-term forecasts from the likes of Max Keiser. Not just USD, but other currencies are also seeing milestones, such as Russia’s ruble today, now trading at 1,000,000:1 versus BTC. New price predictions are now hard to form, with regular commentators instead advising new inv…
